People With Disabilities in Costa Rica Can Opt Out of License Plate Restrictions

Good news for people with handicap license plates in Costa Rica. The Costa Rican Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT), through its Directorate General of Traffic Engineering (DGIT), is now granting permits to people with disabilities so they can use their vehicle any day of the week in the downtown San José sector which has restricted access. The Costa Rican National Council of the Person with Disabilities (Conapdis) petitioned the government agency to make the change.
