Head on Collision Between Two Trains With Close to 400 Passengers in Heredia, Costa Rica

Costa Rica traffic police, firefighters and paramedics are currently in Santo Domingo de Heredia, where two trains crashed for reasons still unknown. At this point authorities report a total of close to 60 people injured, 4 of them in delicate condition and fortunately no fatalities. Hector Chávez director of the Costa Rica Firefighters explained that one train was heading south while the other was going north, they crashed in a curve. Authorities estimate that between the two trains there were at least 400 passengers. Elizabeth Briceño, president of the Costa Rica Railroad Institute (Incofer) declared that an accident like this…
